How to use the site
Make! provides the ultimate craft resource. It's a site for craft enthusiasts, people like you, somewhere where you can find products and craft suppliers and share your craft experiences with other people who share your interest. Everyone can use the site, but if you want full functionality and to become a part of the community you'll need to register and sign up as a Make! member. It's free to join, and by joining you can have fun taking part and discover a world full of people who enjoy the same crafts as you.
My profile
The profile is the area of Make! where you can control everything you do on the site. Firstly you can enter and update your profile options and decide what you'd like the rest of the Make! members to read about you. You can also enter personal details and keep them private if you'd prefer or simply leave them blank. You will need to choose a user name and provide your email address. You can pick up email messages from within the profile area, add to the directory and showcase and make posts to the craft forum.
Q How do I know that I've signed up to the site successfully?
A You'll need to complete the top section of the sign up page, including your name, email address, user name and password. Then you'll need to complete the 'hint' question at the bottom of the page, which you'll need in case you ever forget your user name or password. Then press the 'sign up now' button. If you have signed up successfully, a message will come up on the page telling you that you have successfully joined the site.
Q Is this the only way to sign up?
A You can also sign up from the email link on the front page. If you sign up this way you will be sent a temporary numberical user name to sign up with and can go in and change it later.
Q How do I add my profile to the site?
A Once you're signed in, go to Profile within MyMake. You'll be able to add in your details on the page. Use the tick box on the left hand side to make your details public to other members on the site.
Don't forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Q How do I change my user name?
A Once your signed in, go to Profile within MyMake. Then choose Login Preferences. Change the details in the boxes on the page. You can change your user name and password.Don't forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Q How do I get personal icons?
A You can do this when you're signed in from within MyMake. Choose the Settings tab. You'll be given the option to choose your craft icons from the second option on the page. Don't forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Q How do I add a personal signature to my forum posts?
A You can do this when you're signed in from within MyMake. Fill in your signature in the top box. Don't forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Q How do I add a personal picture to my profile?
A You can do this when you're signed in from within MyMake. Go to Profile, Your Picture, You can upload your picture here. It will need to be in a digital format, saved as a JPEG and no bigger than 150kb.
Q How do I manage the number of showcase, directory and forum posts that I see on a page?
A You can do this when you're signed in from within MyMake. Choose the Settings tab. You'll be given the option to set these up from the last option on the page. Don't forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Directory
Within the directory you can

You'll be able to search for craft suppliers, by product area, for events, by area, date and type of event and for clubs and classes, by product area, country location and date.
Your user logon name will show within the directory, but you can be reassured that your email address will remain anonymous. If anyone wants to contact you regarding your listing, their message will be posted to 'my messages' within your profile. It's up to you then if you'd like to hand out your email address.
You'll need to be registered to post your ad or make a personal response to an ad, but anyone registered or not, can browse the directory.

Regular fees for the Craft Supplier directory:
One month - £40
Three months - £90
Six months - £120
Twelve months - £175
Payment will be taken by PayPal at the time of listing. We use PayPal as our payment mechanism, you can pay using Credit and Debit cards through this system. Yo do not need to be PayPal registered.
All other listings are free.
Q How do I edit my directory entries?
A We want to make sure that you can keep your directory entry up to date, so you can go into MyMake at any time and change your entry. Go to directory in MyMake. Then click on the entry that you'd like to change. Change the entry and then remember to save it once you are happy with the changes.
Showcase
Make! members can upload examples of their best craft work into the Make! showcase. This gives you the opportunity to share crafts that you're proud of. It gives other people the opportunity to see what you've done, vote on your crafts and make comments. If you're a professionalcrafter, it also gives you the chance to showcase the type of work you sell and spark some interest from other site visitors. Everyone can browse the showcase and if you're a member you'll be able to add your own showcase, vote on the images and add your comments.

Forums
You'll be able to use the forums to discuss everything – both craft-related and non craft-related issues. The forums provide an environment where you can really get your teeth into your hobby with other people who enjoy the same. Anyone can browse the forums and read the posts, but you'll need to be a Make! member to take part and make your voice heard.
Emailing other members
If, at any time you want to email another Make! member, all you need to do is to click on their user name which is a live link. This will take you to a member bio where you'll find a 'send message' link.
Q How do I use my message centre?
A Other members can send you messages from the site by clicking on your user name on the site. Within your bio, they'll find a 'send message' link. You'll receive a message to your registered email address telling you that there's a message for you in your Make! mailbox. You can retrieve messages from your mailbox and reply to any messages that you receive there.
Reviews
Add reviews through the MyMake section of the site. You'll need to be a Make! member to add an entry.

Once a review is added other people can add comment or rate a product or service.
Projects
Add your poject to the site. You can add a project with step by step instruction and pictures to show how the project is made. You'll need to add your project through MyMake. Other people will be able to use your project, but if you want to add one, you'll need to be a Make! member.
If you'd like to add your project, you'll need to be a Make! Member. Projects are added from within MyMake!.
