When it comes to card-making for Christmas, I have always believed in designs that allow you to be efficient, yet produce artistic, gorgeous looking cards.
I think, if you have a couple of sheets of patterned papers in festive colours and designs, you have already won half of the battle. All you need to do is unleash your scissors, and play with the patterns, designs and layers. Just like I did on the following card.

You will need

* SBK Card making kit (www.sbkitclub.com) – MOK0002-0006
* Woodware Tag punch
* Double-sided tape

Step-by-step

1. Take 3 patterned papers and cut strips to the same height of your card blank. Don’t worry about the lines being straight as you’ll need to distress the edges anyway as part of the shabby chic effect. If you want your papers to look even more distressed, ink the edges with the bronze ink provided in the kit.

2. Punch out a tiny tag shape with the punch for your Christmas message. Ink the edges and punch a hole for your ribbon or thread.

3. Thread a shorter piece of ribbon through the hole and attach your tag to a longer piece of ribbon. Handwrite or stamp your short message.

4. Use a tape roller or double-sided tape to attach the paper strips to your card blank. Make sure they overlap a bit. Attach a Christmassy embellishment, like the poinsettias used here, to where the strips overlap. If you have a cool background stamp that goes with the theme, you can stamp, too.

5. Use the thinnest double-sided tape or ribbon glue to attach your ribbon with the message across the card. Use a 3D foam pad on the tag for added dimension.

6. Admire!
